How to Stay Focused on Your Weight Loss Plan This (and every) Weekend

Is it challenging to focus on your weight loss plan on the weekends? I asked Dr. Everett if it is ok to have a cheat day while on a weight loss plan. She said, “I recommend saving cheat days for when you reach goal weight. Right now you are trying to develop consistent good habits. Cheat days early in the game are likely to trigger overindulgence. A “cheat meal” once a week is possible and can make your diet feel less arduous as long as it is pre planned and self limited.”

In other words:


A cheat meal can lead to a cheat weekend!

Want to exercise the calories off?


That’s what I thought.

As Dr. Everett said, plan one meal that you will enjoy this weekend. Think ahead to seeing a lower number on the scale this Monday than you did last week.
